The Spiritual Injury Tour

Following on from the Art Skool Drop Outs big crash, what else can bass player and (spoof) conceptual artist Domain Jane do? Get stuck in New York’s
Fryin Tonite serving chips, that’s what! Alongside Mother:
a wayward chip-chopping man-eater from hell with a mouth like a sewer!

The Spiritual Injury Tour charts the darkly hilarious and claustrophobic mother – daughter love hate battle. Fusing character comedy with ventriloquism, music and song it charts their personal journey. Claire Morgan wrote and performed the piece and worked closely with Jerboa Kolinowski to produce the music and soundscape for the project, which was published by Zebra Publishing and featured local musicians The Captain and Margot Hardman.

Monkfish Productions received funding from Northern Cultural Skills Partnership to work with Manchester Performance Poet and Mentor Gerry Potter. Gerry is also known as uncompromising and critically acclaimed alter-ego poetic creation Chloe Poems. Claire worked with Gerry from The Green Room in Manchester to develop the piece for Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006.

Since then, The Spiritual Injury (aka Mother and Jane) have worked closely in partnership with Hells Belles Comedy Cabaret in Newcastle to regularly appear with lots more man-scaring material! It has been performed at both Shortfuse in London and Show Real at Contact Theatre in Manchester.
